Gundaroo Public School is a small, rural school with a strong community focus and parental support. Students, teachers and parents are 'working together' to: teach each child the basic skills; and to develop each child to be socially adept . We encourage each child to strive for excellence and to reach his or her maximum potential. We promote a caring attitude towards each other and the environment. Our school prides itself in providing a happy, caring and supportive educational environment where children learn and develop as individuals. Dedicated and experienced teachers provide an extensive, varied and balanced program which includes: all six Key Learning Areas, with an emphasis on literacy and numeracy. We have a strong PE/Health/PD with fitness and sport emphasis. Other programs include LOTE French K-6; music and art appreciation We have whole school famous person lessons. We have a computer ratio of 1:2. Our students excel in public speaking and debating. We have an environmental education focus including Bugwatch, tree planting and monitoring seismic activity. To supplement school music lessons in Musica Viva, marimba band and singing, an initiative in 2009 was the formation of two extra-curricula music groups: a guitar group and a woodwind/brass band.
