Education Directory introduces St Augustines College in Cairns, for all your education and learning needs.
St Augustine’s was founded in 1930. We are a Catholic boys school in the Marist tradition. Our goal is to provide an environment which nurtures those in our care and encourages excellence. The chief priority of our school community is to ensure that each of our students is known and well cared for. We take to heart the first rule of our founder, St Marcellin Champagnat, “That to educate a child properly, first you must love them and love them all equally”.
The Gospel is at the heart of all we do here at Saints. This is the foundation upon which our College is built. Forming young men with “Strong minds and gentle hearts” is being true to our Charism and sets the agenda for all that occurs in our school community.
St Augustine’s provides boarding facilities for both boys and girls. While our boys are educated here at St Augustine’s, our girls are educated at St Monica’s College, a short drive from our Campus. The convenience of having one Boarding facility that caters for both boys and girls has proven to be a popular option for our parents.
St Augustine’s is a high achieving, friendly and welcoming community. We have deliberately set an enrolment ceiling of 650 boys so that our nurturing and family environment can more easily be achieved. I believe the size of our school and our particular focus on boys’ learning is pivotal in our success. Our down to earth approach and achievement-oriented focus sets the scene for a dynamic and high achieving school community.
Welcome to St Augustines College one of the popular educators in your Cairns area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
