St Joseph’s School was established by the Sisters of St Joseph in 1895.

St Joseph’s is a co-educational kindergarten to year six school which is part of the Catholic Education System run by the Diocese of Wilcannia-Forbes. St Joseph’s is a school that integrates Gospel values into all aspects of school and community life, and which has a particular emphasis on individual development. The enrolment in 2011 is 31 students.

Our Patron is Saint Joseph. Our school motto is ‘In Mary We Trust’. Our school strives to be a community that is inspired by the example of Mary who live Christian values. Liturgical celebrations including Sacraments, while being school based, also involve the parish community.

As well as NAPLAN and University of NSW Schools Competitions students have the opportunity to be involved in many community activities which include the ANZAC ceremony, the CWA Public Speaking Competition, the local show and any projects offered to students from external organisations.

All students are encouraged to, and have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports and compete in Diocesan, Inter-diocesan and State Carnivals. It is the aim of St Joseph’s to give every pupil the opportunity to fulfil his/her potential to the fullest in every respect.

There are programs operating for remedial literacy and students with special needs. St Joseph’s is a school supported by the parish and Catholic community of Peak Hill.

Peak Hill is an historical gold mining town with a population of 1400. The town is located 48km north of Parkes in the central-west of NSW.
